For US cabinetry projects, the safe install sequence is to confirm center-to-center spacing, projection, grip clearance, door or drawer thickness and finish approval before any fronts are drilled. Fit checks for inset, face-frame, full-overlay and appliance panels

Use the cabinet construction to decide how much clearance, grip space and alignment control the installer needs.

Cabinet condition What to verify before drilling Why it matters
Inset cabinetry Reveal, pull projection, grip clearance and door swing beside the frame. Small alignment changes are visible and the pull must not foul the frame.
Face-frame cabinetry Rail, stile and drawer-front positions, especially where hardware repeats across a run. The fixing point must work with the frame layout and not just the visible front.
Full-overlay fronts Adjacent doors, reveal gaps, corner returns and projection at meeting edges. Clearance is often the issue, not only the center-to-center size.
Appliance or refrigerator panel Panel structure, door weight, long pull length, fixing positions and hand clearance. Large panels need product and project review before hardware is released.

US fitting decisions that usually need review

Can the installer drill from overall pull length?

No. For two-point cabinet pulls, the drill pattern follows center-to-center spacing. Overall length helps with visual scale, but it is not the fixing-hole measurement.

What is different about appliance and refrigerator panels?

Appliance and refrigerator panels need panel-structure review, long-pull scale checks, fixing-position control and clearance around adjacent fronts. Send project details before release if the panel construction is not already confirmed.

Should US Letter spec sheets be used for a submittal?

Yes. Use US Letter spec sheets alongside the product page, finish approval route and Hardware Schedule when a designer, architect, cabinet shop or procurement team needs a controlled project record.

When is custom center review needed?
