Projection and finger clearance are related, but not the same.

Projection

Projection is the distance from the cabinet face to the furthest outward point of the handle, knob, cup pull, C pull or T-bar.

Finger clearance

Finger clearance is the usable space for fingers behind, under or within the pull. A product can project well but still feel tight if the grip path is shallow.

Fixing suitability

Fixing suitability depends on centres, door thickness, screw length, rear access and whether the product is used on a light door, wide drawer or appliance front.
