Cabinet Handle Projection & Fixings Guide | Capramont & Co

Cabinet handle projection is the distance hardware stands proud from a door or drawer front; finger clearance is the usable space behind or within the pull. For Capramont & Co hardware, check projection, centres, fixing type and door thickness before drilling, then send project details for custom centres, appliance pulls or unusual joinery.

Cabinet Handle Projection, Clearance & Fixings Guide

Resolve projection, usable grip space, fixing thread, front thickness and rear access before finished fronts are drilled. Projection and clearance are related but not interchangeable, and the fixing condition still needs to work with the actual cabinetry.

Riyadh and Jeddah

For Riyadh villas and branded residences and Jeddah homes or hospitality interiors, projection and fixing checks should be coordinated before larger joinery packages are drilled. Use this guide to review metric centres, door thickness, appliance-scale pulls, grip clearance, fixing depth and project-specific dimensions.

01 · Technical Risks

Prevent drilling, clearance and fixing problems before order.

The same four checks repeat across drawers, doors, appliance panels and long pulls: projection, usable hand space, fixing route and actual front thickness.

01

Projection

How far the hardware stands proud from the cabinet face. Check adjacent fronts, corners, frames, circulation and appliance banks.

02

Finger clearance

The usable space behind, under or inside the pull. A product can project well but still feel tight if the grip path is shallow.

03

Fixing thread & rear access

Cabinet Pull sizes use M5; variants explicitly classified as Appliance Pull use M6. Rear access still needs to suit the installation.

04

Front thickness

Door, drawer-front or appliance-panel thickness affects final screw length, engagement and fitting suitability.

02 · Decision Framework

Projection and clearance are related, but they are not the same measurement.

Use product geometry and the real front condition together. Do not infer grip comfort from outward projection alone, and do not infer final screw length from M5 or M6 alone.

Projection

The distance from the cabinet face to the furthest outward point of the handle, knob, cup pull, C pull or T-bar.

Finger clearance

The usable hand space behind, under or within the hardware. Shape and underside geometry influence the usable path.

Fixing suitability

Depends on centres, thread, front thickness, final screw length and rear access. M5 applies to Cabinet Pull; M6 applies where the variant is explicitly an Appliance Pull.

03 · Hardware Type Comparison

Clearance and fixing checks by hardware type.

The visual form changes the engineering check. Use the selected PDP or technical sheet as the product-level release reference.

Fixing rule: Cabinet Pull sizes use M5; variants explicitly classified as Appliance Pull use M6. Final screw length depends on actual cabinet-front or appliance-panel thickness and rear fixing access.

06 · Project Control

When to send drawings, elevations or door details.

Escalate the project where appliance panels, refrigerator panels, tall doors, fluted fronts, slim rails, inset cabinetry, existing holes, unusual front thickness or repeated elevations change the standard fitting condition.

08 · FAQs

Projection, clearance and fixing questions.

Use the product page, technical sheet and reviewed project condition as the final release reference.

What is cabinet handle projection?
Projection is how far the handle, knob or pull stands out from the cabinet face. It affects grip comfort, adjacent-door clearance, traffic areas and appliance-panel use.
Is finger clearance the same as projection?
No. Projection is outward depth; clearance is usable hand space behind, under or inside the hardware. A pull can project sufficiently and still have a tight grip path.
Do all handles need the same projection?
No. Knobs, C pulls, cup pulls, standard handles and appliance pulls behave differently. Check the selected PDP or technical sheet before drilling.
What fixing thread is used?
Cabinet Pull sizes use M5. Variants explicitly classified as Appliance Pull use M6. Final screw length still depends on actual front thickness, rear access and required engagement.
When should the project be reviewed before ordering?
Use project review for appliance or refrigerator panels, tall doors, existing holes, custom or thick fronts, slim rails, fluted fronts, inset cabinetry and multi-room schedules.
