Common Cabinet Handle Centres & Replacement Matrix Guide | Capramont & Co

For replacement cabinet handles, measure the distance between the centre of one fixing hole and the centre of the other. That is the centre-to-centre size. Capramont & Co provides British-made cabinet handles, pulls, C-pulls and cup pulls with visible centre data, tear sheets and a custom-centre review route for non-standard holes.

Common Cabinet Handle Centres & Replacement Matrix

Measure the existing screw-hole spacing first. Centre-to-centre is the distance from the middle of one fixing hole to the middle of the second; overall handle length is a separate dimension.

Riyadh and Jeddah

For Riyadh and Jeddah residential, hospitality and phased joinery packages, confirm fixing centres before hardware is approved so standard and custom-centre routes can be controlled across repeated fronts.

Existing Centres First · Millimetres Retained · Custom Centres Reviewed · No Minimum Order

01 · Measurement First

Measure the screw holes, not the handle length.

The existing drilling pattern is the controlling replacement measurement. Keep the exact millimetre value in the project record even where US teams also work in inches.

01

Remove one existing handle

Expose both fixing holes and measure the drilled pattern directly. Do not infer the spacing from the visible handle length.

02

Measure exact centre-to-centre

Measure from the middle of one screw hole to the middle of the second. Record the exact value before rounding or matching to a product.

03

Check the cabinet condition

Confirm front thickness, rails, stiles, inset frames, edge details, appliance panels and any marks that the replacement must cover.

04

Match exactly or request review

Use a published route where the spacing matches. Where it does not, send the measured holes, photos or drawings before redrilling finished fronts.

02 · Replacement Decision

Exact match, near match or custom centre?

A near match is not an exact match. Where the drilled spacing differs from the published size, treat it as a review condition rather than forcing the cabinetry to the hardware.

Exact match

Use the published size if the drilled spacing matches the selected product exactly and the projection/fixing condition is suitable.

Near match

Do not enlarge or move holes merely because a published size is close. Review marks, fixing position and front condition first.

Custom centre

Send the exact spacing, quantity, product family, photos or drawings for feasibility review before drilling or ordering.

03 · Common Size Routes

Common cabinet handle centre routes.

These are planning routes from the current Capramont product data. Product type, projection, fixing position and cabinetry still need to be checked before replacement or drill release.

04 · Product Proof

Capramont product proof by centre size.

The product table retains the supplied centre sizes, overall lengths and document routes. For US projects, use the US Letter document; other markets use the A4 sheet.

05 · Custom Review

Use custom centres when old holes or project drawings do not match a standard route.

Send the exact hole spacing, photographs or drawings, quantity and selected product family. A custom dimension is reviewed against product geometry and manufacturing feasibility before drilling or made-to-order production.

Existing holes

Measure first, retain the exact dimension and include photographs showing marks or constraints that the replacement hardware must cover.

Bespoke joinery

Use drawings or elevations where drawer widths, rails, appliance panels or repeated fronts require a project-specific dimension.

Controlled submittal

Keep the approved size connected to product, room, finish, quantity and project record before manufacture.

06 · Specification Proof

Proof to collect before ordering or drilling.

Use one controlled route from product selection through dimensional confirmation, finish approval and multi-room scheduling.

01

PDP specification

Product family, centres, overall lengths, available sizes and finish direction.

02

A4 spec sheet

Dimensional product proof for client, cabinet shop, joiner or project review.

03

Finish sign-off

Physical approval before made-to-order production where finish consistency matters.

04

Project review

Existing holes, photographs, elevations, drawings and replacement constraints.

05

Hardware Schedule

Products, rooms, centres, finishes, quantities and approvals in one controlled record.

08 · FAQs

Cabinet handle centre questions.

Use these answers as planning guidance; the selected product data and approved project condition remain the final drilling reference.

What does centre-to-centre mean?
It is the distance from the middle of one fixing hole to the middle of the second fixing hole. It is not the overall length of the handle.
Can I replace a handle if the new spacing is only slightly different?
Do not assume a near match is suitable. Review the exact drilled spacing, marks, fixing position and cabinetry before moving or enlarging holes.
What if my existing spacing is not listed?
Send the exact measurement, photographs or drawings for custom-centre review. Feasibility depends on the selected product geometry.
Should overall length be used to match replacement pulls?
No. Overall length helps with scale and coverage, but the drilled fixing spacing is the controlling replacement measurement.
When should I use a Hardware Schedule?
Use one when multiple rooms, fronts or stakeholders need a controlled record of products, centre sizes, finishes, quantities and approvals.

Dimensional & Fit Engineering

Measure the holes. Match the centres. Review the exception before drilling.

Use the published centre routes and product proof first. Where existing holes, appliance panels or project drawings do not align, use custom-centre or project review before finished fronts are altered.
