Cabinet Hardware Installation & Fitting Guide

Control the installation before finished fronts are drilled. Confirm the selected product, centre-to-centre size, projection, fixing thread, front thickness, final screw length, repeated alignment and finish approval before hardware is fitted or made-to-order production is released.

Riyadh and Jeddah

For Riyadh villas and branded residences and Jeddah coastal homes and hospitality interiors, cabinet hardware installation should be standardised across larger room-by-room joinery packages before drilling. Use this guide to confirm centres, fixings, projection, grip clearance, finish approval and project records.

Measure Before Drilling · M5 Cabinet Pull / M6 Appliance Pull · Check Front Thickness · Finish Approved Before Production

01 · Installation Sequence

Set the drill file from product geometry, cabinetry and fixing conditions.

The installer should not work from visual judgement or overall pull length alone. Use the selected PDP or technical sheet, the actual front condition and the approved project record.

01

Confirm the selected product

Lock the product family, size, finish and functional role before creating or issuing the drilling template.

02

Confirm the fixing position

For two-point hardware, drill from the approved centre-to-centre dimension, not from the overall length. Knobs and T-bars use a single fixing position.

03

Check projection & clearance

Confirm hand space, adjacent doors, inset frames, meeting stiles, corner returns and appliance-panel clearance before drilling.

04

Confirm fixing thread & screw length

Cabinet Pull sizes use M5; variants explicitly classified as Appliance Pull use M6. Final screw length depends on the actual front or appliance-panel thickness and rear access.

02 · Pre-Drill Checks

Confirm the condition that controls the installation.

Different cabinet constructions create different risks. The drill position may be correct dimensionally and still fail if projection, frame clearance, fixing access or the front structure is ignored.

Inset cabinetry

Check reveals, pull projection, grip clearance and door swing beside the frame. Small alignment errors remain highly visible.

Check clearance →

Face-frame cabinetry

Check rails, stiles and drawer-front positions so the fixing works with the structural frame as well as the visible front.

Review drawings →

Full-overlay fronts

Check adjacent doors, reveal gaps, corner returns and hardware projection at meeting edges before repeat drilling.

Check projection →

Appliance panels

Confirm panel condition, hardware role, fixing thread, long-pull geometry and hand clearance before release.

Project review →

Existing drilled fronts

Measure the actual fixing spacing and check whether the existing holes can be retained before choosing the replacement size.

Custom centres →

Repeated room schedules

Use one controlled record for product, size, finish, room, quantity and approval status before the installer repeats the drill pattern.

Hardware Schedule →

03 · Hardware Type & Fixing Logic

Match the fixing method to the selected hardware role.

Use this table as the first installation decision layer. Product-specific dimensions, projection and final screw length should still be checked on the selected PDP or technical sheet.

Hardware typeFixing patternThread routeInstallation control

M5/M6 describes the fixing-thread route. It does not set the final screw length. Confirm the actual cabinet-front or appliance-panel thickness and the required engagement before installation.

04 · Drill-Release Control

Do not release finished fronts until these checks agree.

The drill-release point connects product selection to the workshop. Where any check is unresolved, stop and use the relevant specification or project-review route rather than relying on site judgement.

01

Product & size

Confirm the final product family and selected size against the PDP or technical sheet.

02

Fixing position

Confirm the actual fixing pattern and exact centre-to-centre dimension before drilling.

03

Front thickness

Confirm cabinet-front or appliance-panel thickness and rear access before choosing final screw length.

04

Clearance

Check projection, hand space, adjacent fronts, frames, corners and appliance conditions.

05

Finish & record

Confirm the finish approval and ensure the room, quantity, revision and project record match the install pack.

05 · Avoid Call-Backs

Common installation errors are specification-control errors first.

Most high-value failures happen before the hardware is tightened: the wrong size, an unverified fixing condition, inconsistent marking, insufficient clearance or a finish decision that was never physically approved.

01

Drilling from overall length

Overall pull length is not the fixing spacing. Use the specified fixing dimension for two-point hardware.

02

Ignoring front thickness

Supplied or planned screws must be checked against the real front or panel thickness before final fitting.

03

Mixing drill references

Use one controlled template or datum across a repeated run rather than measuring each front independently.

04

Skipping clearance checks

Projection can conflict with frames, adjacent doors, corner returns or appliance-panel movement even when the holes are correct.

05

Fitting before finish sign-off

Use physical finish approval where consistency matters before made-to-order hardware is released across a project.

06 · Project Review Boundary

Stop the installation route when the cabinetry changes the engineering condition.

Send project information where the hardware cannot be released safely from the standard PDP, technical sheet and approved schedule alone.

Appliance panelsPanel condition, hardware role, fixing requirement, projection and long-pull alignment need coordinated review.
Custom centresExisting holes or project-specific fixing positions should be reviewed before finished fronts are drilled.
Unusual frontsThick fronts, fluting, ribs, narrow rails, inset frames or restricted rear access may change the installation route.
Repeated elevationsLarge room-by-room schedules should use one controlled drill, finish and revision record.

What to send

A drawing, elevation, photograph, front thickness, room reference, selected product and intended quantity are enough to begin a review. The aim is to resolve the engineering condition before finished cabinetry is drilled.

07 · Specification Evidence

Use the product record, not workshop memory, as the installation reference.

The installation pack should connect the product page, technical sheet, reviewed dimensions, finish approval and project schedule so the fitter is working from the same information as the specifier.

01

PDP

Confirm product, size, role, engineering table and technical-document route.

02

Technical sheet

Use the product sheet for dimensional and fitting reference before drill release.

03

Project review

Record any exception involving custom centres, appliance panels or unusual cabinetry.

04

Finish approval

Keep the approved physical finish route connected to the order and project record.

05

Hardware Schedule

Control room, product, size, finish, quantity and revision across repeated installations.

08 · Frequently Asked Questions

Cabinet hardware installation & fitting FAQs.

Use these answers as release checks, not as a substitute for the selected product's technical data or project review.

Should cabinet pulls be drilled from overall length?
No. For two-point hardware, use the approved centre-to-centre fixing dimension. Overall length and fixing spacing are separate measurements.
What fixing thread is used?
Cabinet Pull sizes use M5. Variants explicitly classified as Appliance Pull use M6. Product-specific fixing information should still be checked before installation.
How is final screw length chosen?
Final screw length depends on the actual cabinet-front or appliance-panel thickness, rear access and the required thread engagement. Do not infer screw length from the thread designation alone.
When should installation stop for project review?
Stop and request review where the project involves appliance panels, custom fixing centres, unusual front thickness, inset or face-frame constraints, restricted rear access, existing holes or repeated high-value elevations that are not resolved by the standard product data.
How should repeated fronts be drilled?
Use a controlled datum, template or drilling record linked to the approved product size and project schedule. Avoid re-measuring each front independently where repeat alignment matters.
When should the finish be approved?
Where finish consistency matters, use physical finish approval before made-to-order production and keep that approval connected to the project record.

Dimensional & Fit Engineering

Confirm the product. Confirm the drilling. Confirm the fixing condition before finished cabinetry is released.

Installation is the final dimensional-control point. Use the connected centres, projection, custom-centre and project-review routes whenever the standard product information does not fully resolve the cabinetry condition.
