01 · Provenance

What we mean by Made in England

For Capramont & Co, English manufacture is not simply a design reference or a country-of-origin statement attached to finished imported hardware. It describes where the hardware is manufactured and where responsibility for its manufacture sits.

Keeping manufacture under our direction allows dimensions, material, finish and inspection to remain connected to the approved project specification.

Machined in England

Components are precision machined through our own manufacturing operation rather than purchased as completed generic hardware.

Project dimensions controlled

Fixing centres, overall dimensions and project-specific requirements can be reviewed before manufacture.

Finishing controlled

Heritage finishes and Performance Metals material specifications remain connected to the manufacturing process and approved project requirement.

Inspected before dispatch

Completed hardware is checked against the relevant specification before leaving our English manufacturing operation.

02 · Manufacturing control

Why we manufacture the hardware ourselves

Direct manufacture gives us control over the details that matter to cabinetmakers, designers and professional specifiers.

Custom fixing centres Where a project requires a non-standard centre dimension, it can be reviewed as a manufacturing requirement rather than treated as an off-the-shelf limitation.

Finish approval A physical finish sample can establish the approved project reference before production begins.

Repeatability Project information can remain connected to later phases, additions or replacement requirements.

No minimum order Direct manufacture allows project quantities to be considered without a distributor-led minimum-order structure.

Cabinet hardware may be decorative in appearance, but it remains a manufactured component.

Manufacturing experience since 1982

Capramont & Co developed from a precision-engineering business established in England in 1982, with manufacturing experience across elite motorsport, aerospace and marine engineering.

That background informs the way we approach cabinet hardware: as a precisely manufactured component with defined dimensions, materials, finishes and project requirements.

This provides independent third-party recognition of our British manufacturing provenance and distinguishes hardware manufactured in England from products that are only designed, distributed or marketed from Britain.
