Custom Cabinet Handle Centres for Bespoke Joinery Guide | Capramont & Co

Capramont & Co reviews custom cabinet handle centres for bespoke joinery, replacement holes, appliance fronts and project hardware schedules. Send existing centre-to-centre measurements, drawings or product requirements and we will advise whether a standard size, custom-centre review or Hardware Schedule is the right route before made-to-order production.

Existing holes first

Do not choose by overall length first

The no-redrill route starts with the fixing holes already in the cabinet front. Overall length affects appearance and coverage, but centre-to-centre size determines whether the new handle can physically fit without drilling new holes.

Measure correctly

Measure centre-to-centre

Remove one existing handle and measure from the centre of one fixing hole to the centre of the other. Do not measure the visible length of the old handle and assume it will match.

Rule: if the new handle matches the existing centre-to-centre measurement, it can usually be fitted using the existing holes. If it does not match, use the custom-centre or project review route.

Replacement workflow

Six checks before choosing replacement hardware

1

Remove one handle

Use the exposed cabinet holes as the source of truth. Old handle length can be misleading.

2

Measure the centres

Measure in millimetres from the centre of one fixing hole to the centre of the other.

3

Check overall length

Overall length helps assess proportion and whether old marks or finish shadows may remain visible.

4

Match product data

Use PDP specification tables and A4 tear sheets to confirm centres, projection and finish route.

5

Review unusual holes

If the centres are non-standard, send photos and measurements before redrilling or ordering.

6

Sign off finish

Use a sample or finish sign-off route before made-to-order production, especially for project work.

Decision table

Which route should you use?

Existing condition Best route Why it matters Next step
Existing holes match a Capramont centre size Choose the matching PDP size Preserves the cabinet front and avoids unnecessary redrilling. View Hardware Finder
Existing centres are unusual or not exact Review custom centres Small centre errors can create visible misalignment or fixing problems. Review Custom Centres
Old handle left marks or finish shadows Check overall length and style coverage The new handle may fit the holes but fail visually if old marks remain visible. Send Project / Drawing Details

Replacement-friendly product routes

These product routes use visible centre-to-centre data and A4 specification sheets. Check the live PDP before ordering and use project review where existing holes, marks or quantities are uncertain.

Westbourne Cabinet Pull in aged brass for replacement cabinet handle projects
Westbourne Cabinet Pull

92–364 mm centresCabinet pull

Useful where existing two-hole pull centres match the Capramont standard handle ladder.

Beaufort Cabinet Handle showing replacement cabinet handle route
Beaufort Cabinet Handle

A clean replacement route for projects that need visible centre data and a controlled specification sheet.

Burlington Cabinet Handle with long centre options for replacement and tall unit hardware
Burlington Cabinet Handle

92–604 mm centresLong pull route

Useful where replacement work includes larger drawers, tall units or longer handle proportions.

Farringdon Handle for cabinet handle replacement with centre-to-centre options
Farringdon Handle

92–604 mm centresCabinet handle

A flexible handle route where replacement work needs a broad centre-size range.

Brunswick Cabinet Handle for non-standard replacement centre sizes
Brunswick Cabinet Handle

158–675 mm centresAlternative centre ladder

Useful when the existing holes are closer to the longer Brunswick centre ladder rather than the standard 92–604 mm ladder.

Maddox Cabinet Handle for replacement projects with alternative centre-to-centre sizes
Maddox Cabinet Handle

84–562 mm centresAlternative centre ladder

Useful for projects where existing centres do not match the main 92 mm starting point.

C pulls and cup pulls

Check fixing centres by hardware type

Cup pull width, C pull length and cabinet handle length are not the same as fixing centres. Match the fixing centres first, then assess overall size, projection and visual coverage.

Product route Hardware type Centres to check Specification proof
Westbourne C Pull C pull 32, 46, 58 mm A4 spec sheet
Beaufort C Pull C pull 32, 46, 58 mm A4 spec sheet
Farringdon Cup Cup pull 50, 86, 138 mm A4 spec sheet
Egerton Cup Cup pull 50, 86, 138 mm A4 spec sheet
Eccleston Cup Cup pull 50, 86, 138 mm A4 spec sheet
When not to redrill

Use custom-centre review for awkward existing holes

Do not redrill immediately if the cabinet front is painted, veneered, installed, marked by previous hardware or part of a multi-room project. A custom-centre route may preserve the front and reduce fitting risk.

Send for review

What to send

For a single room: centre-to-centre measurement, old handle length, photos, quantity, finish preference and product interest.

For a project: room list, door/drawer counts, elevations, existing schedule, finish direction and approval contact.

Finish and project control

Check finish, scale and approval before production

Replacement hardware has to work with existing cabinetry, old fixing marks, paint colours, timber tones and the project approval route. Use samples or finish sign-off before made-to-order production.

Finish Sign-Off Knob

Use for physical finish approval before production.

Order Finish Sign-Off

Hardware Schedule

Use for whole-kitchen, whole-home or multi-room replacement projects.

Visible FAQs

Replacement hardware FAQs

Can I replace cabinet handles without drilling new holes?

Yes, if the new handle has the same centre-to-centre fixing measurement as the existing holes. Measure the cabinet holes first, then choose a product size with matching centres.

What does centre-to-centre mean?

Centre-to-centre means the distance from the centre of one fixing hole to the centre of the other. It is the key measurement for two-point replacement handles.

Should I measure the old handle or the cabinet holes?

Measure the cabinet holes where possible. The old handle can be misleading if it is bent, worn, loose or not accurately aligned.

What if my existing holes do not match a standard size?

Send the measurement, photos or drawings for review. A custom-centre route may be better than redrilling, especially on high-value cabinetry.

Can cup pulls be replaced using existing holes?

Yes, but cup pulls have their own fixing centres. Do not match by width alone. Check fixing centres and drawer rail clearance.

Should I order a sample first?

Yes. Samples and finish sign-off reduce finish and scale risk before made-to-order production, especially for project-led replacement work.

Final check

Need existing holes checked before ordering?

Send the centre measurement, photos, quantity and product interest. Capramont & Co can review whether the replacement route should use a standard PDP size, custom centres or a controlled Hardware Schedule.
