This work involved complex manufactured components where internal geometry, bearing surfaces, machined faces, material behaviour and dimensional accuracy had to be controlled and verified before delivery.
That engineering discipline existed decades before Capramont & Co was established as a cabinet hardware brand.
Today, the same approach is applied to Capramont cabinet hardware: dimensions are defined before manufacture, project-specific requirements can be incorporated into the drawing, finishes can be physically approved where required, and manufactured hardware is checked against its specification before leaving our facility.

Precision Components, Inspection and Dimensional Control
The engineering work behind Capramont & Co included precision housings, specialist gearbox and transmission components, and high-performance engine parts manufactured to confidential drawings.
Producing components of this kind requires controlled machining, material understanding and dimensional verification throughout manufacture. Critical relationships between machined faces, bores, internal geometry and bearing surfaces must remain within specification.
On selected critical features, tolerances were held to within ±5 microns and verified using coordinate measuring equipment before final assembly.
What carries into Capramont & Co cabinet hardware is the same discipline: define the requirement, manufacture to specification, measure the result and verify it before delivery.

How Precision Engineering Is Applied to Capramont Cabinet Hardware
Cabinet hardware may be decorative in appearance, but it remains a manufactured component. Its dimensions affect fixing centres, alignment, appliance fronts, projection, installation and future replacement.
At Capramont & Co, fixing centres, overall length, projection, diameter and fixing positions are defined before production so the hardware can be considered alongside the cabinetry rather than added as an afterthought.
Custom centres, adjusted lengths, alternative materials and other project-specific requirements can be reviewed before manufacture. Where required, a physical finish sample can also establish the approved project reference.
For designers, architects, kitchen studios and joiners, this creates a direct link between specification and manufacture: agree the requirement first, then make the hardware to it.

Centres, projection, diameter, overall length and fixing positions are managed as manufacturing details, helping hardware align correctly across fitted cabinetry, wardrobes, kitchens, utilities and appliance fronts.

Approved finishes are controlled from sample to final supply, helping reduce visible variation across quantities, rooms and later project phases.

Custom centres, adjusted lengths, special materials and project-specific requirements can be reviewed before production, rather than improvised late in the project.

Manufacturing and Product Design
The manufacturing founder leads product design and production at Capramont & Co, applying the precision-engineering disciplines developed through more than four decades of motorsport, aerospace and marine component manufacture.
Much of that earlier work was undertaken under confidential manufacturing contracts where the supplier was not publicly identified. What carries into Capramont & Co is the underlying discipline: drawing-led production, dimensional control, material understanding, inspection and verification before delivery.
Project-specific requirements are reviewed directly within the manufacturing business. Custom fixing centres, adjusted lengths, alternative materials and finish requirements can therefore be considered before production rather than being passed through an external manufacturing chain.
Commercial, Interiors and International Projects
Vanita Dhand-Panchal — Co-Founder
Vanita Dhand-Panchal began her career developing a pioneering software and hardware system for the international airline inflight-catering industry, receiving a World Innovations Award and the Queen's Award for Professional and Academic Achievement at Buckingham Palace.
She later spent more than two decades in luxury interiors and international business development, working with designers, architects and procurement specialists on five-star hospitality and high-end residential projects across Europe, the Middle East and North America.
Vanita also serves as a Dissertation Supervisor and Guest Lecturer on the MSc in Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Executive MBA programmes at Warwick University.
Together, the founders have built Capramont & Co around a direct relationship between specification and manufacture, from drawing and approval through to production and delivery.
What the Capramont Standard Means for a Cabinet Hardware Project
The Capramont Standard is the application of more than four decades of English precision-engineering discipline to made-to-order cabinet hardware.
It means defining important dimensions before manufacture, reviewing project-specific requirements before production, establishing an approved physical finish reference where required, and checking manufactured hardware against its specification before it leaves our facility.
The objective is cabinet hardware that can be specified clearly, manufactured deliberately and supported from initial approval through to later additions, replacement pieces and subsequent project phases.
