Custom sizing for bespoke joinery
Where standard fixing centres or overall lengths do not suit a kitchen, dressing room or fitted furniture design, we can review dimensions against the project drawings before manufacture.
Capramont & Co reviews custom cabinet handle centres for bespoke joinery, replacement holes, appliance fronts and project hardware schedules. Send existing centre-to-centre measurements, drawings or product requirements and we will advise whether a standard size, custom-centre review or Hardware Schedule is the right route before made-to-order production.
Custom dimensions · No minimum order · Made in England
The freedom to be exact.
Custom fixing centres can be specified without a minimum order quantity. Every request is considered against the chosen design, required dimensions and manufacturing feasibility.
Subject to feasibility, individual quotation and agreed lead time.A handle should suit the cabinetry. The cabinetry should never have to suit the handle.
Capramont & Co makes luxury cabinet hardware to order in England. A standard dimension is useful; it is not a design instruction. Where the published size is not quite right, we can review custom fixing centres, overall length, projection and selected design details against the actual joinery drawings before manufacture.
What makes this different
Not merely selected. Made. Our own English machining, finishing and inspection operation allows a proposed change to be reviewed against the hardware's actual geometry.
Not defined by quantity. Custom fixing centres are assessed on their design and engineering merits, without a minimum order threshold.
01 / The design problem
A few millimetres can alter the balance of a drawer, reveal an old fixing hole or interrupt the clearance of a neighbouring front. The difference may be small. To the finished interior, it may matter enormously.
Where standard fixing centres or overall lengths do not suit a kitchen, dressing room or fitted furniture design, we can review dimensions against the project drawings before manufacture.
A change of hardware need not always mean filling and redrilling a finished door. Send accurate measurements and photographs; we can assess an eligible design against the existing hole spacing.
Pantry doors, wardrobes and integrated appliance panels are not simply oversized drawers. Overall length, projection, panel thickness, clearances and the installation method must be considered together.
A beautiful detail should not ignore the person using it. Where a brief calls for particular grip space, reach or positioning, selected designs can be reviewed; the project team and intended user must confirm suitability in the installed setting.
02 / What can be reviewed
The most convincing alterations look as though they were always intended. We can assess changes to an eligible design while respecting its character, geometry and structural requirements. Not every profile is possible in every dimension.
Review a non-standard screw-hole spacing for replacement fronts or bespoke joinery. Existing-hole measurements must be accurate before a proposed match is approved.
Assess a longer or shorter handle against its design, end conditions and fixing positions, rather than assuming the centres alone determine the overall appearance.
Where feasible, review projection and usable hand clearance alongside cabinet-front thickness, fixing access, neighbouring fronts and the intended use.
Product family, material, machining constraints and installation conditions determine what can be offered. Every exception requires review and written confirmation before production.
03 / Why we can offer it
Since 1982, our family's precision-engineering experience has spanned elite motorsport, aerospace and marine applications. Today we bring that same drawing-led discipline to cabinet hardware, precision-machined, finished and inspected in England. The detail is decorative. The thinking behind it is decidedly technical.
Discussing dimensions directly with the manufacturer allows us to consider geometry, machining, fixings, material and finish together. A catalogue can show what is standard. It need not dictate what is possible.
Precision is not the opposite of beauty. It is one of its conditions.
04 / Dimensions explained
This distinction is particularly important when replacing a handle or finalising drilling on made-to-measure joinery.
We do not treat a required centre-to-centre measurement as automatically determining the finished size of the pull. The proposed fixing positions must work with the selected design and its overall form.
For a replacement, measure the existing holes directly in millimetres wherever possible. If supplying inches, state that clearly. Do not estimate the hole spacing from the old handle's overall length.
Illustrative measurement guide · Not to scale
Fixing spacing and overall length are shown in front view. Projection is a separate side-view measurement. Final approved product drawings take precedence over this illustration.
05 / One design language, two material routes
A custom dimension should not make a beautiful handle look unfamiliar. We begin with an existing Capramont design and assess which changes can preserve its proportions, material character and intended appearance.
Brass patinas and considered traditional or contemporary profiles for kitchens, wardrobes and interiors where proportion and surface character matter. Selected designs can be assessed for a non-standard dimension while retaining their intended appearance.
Project-led options include 316L stainless steel, naval brass, Grade 5 titanium and selected coated metals. Material suitability, finish, environment, design geometry and machining feasibility must all be reviewed for a custom application.
There is no minimum order quantity for custom fixing centres. Design feasibility, pricing and lead time are confirmed before manufacture.
A drawing-led schedule can bring standard and custom dimensions, materials and finishes together across rooms, repeated fronts and future phases.
06 / The practical route
Begin with what you know. An accurate measurement, an early elevation or a simple description can start the conversation. The details can then be considered in the right order—before anything is drilled or made.
Describe the joinery, existing holes, approximate quantity and intended hardware. Drawings and photographs are useful where available.
We consider suitable existing designs, fixing centres, overall size, projection, materials and installation constraints.
Price, lead time, drawing details and any finish approval requirements are confirmed before the made-to-order release.
Approved hardware is machined, finished and inspected against the agreed manufacturing specification.
07 / Preparing your enquiry
A well-drawn detail is helpful. A clear question is a perfectly good beginning. The Project Enquiry welcomes future and live projects, with space for drawings and hardware schedules where available.
Exact centre-to-centre spacing, photographs, front material and thickness where known, previous handle size and required quantity.
Elevations or sketches, intended handle family, preferred position, overall size or centre target, cabinet type and quantities.
Projection, clearance, fitting access, environment, finish preference and any practical grip or positioning requirement identified by the project team.
08 / Common questions
Custom hardware · Direct from the manufacturer
A non-standard fixing distance, an unusual proportion or a new piece of joinery deserves a considered answer. Share the requirement and we will review what is possible before manufacture in England.
Enquiries welcome in Hong Kong and internationally. Custom work is subject to feasibility, quotation and agreed specifications.
