Choose cabinet handle size by the size of the drawer or door, the weight of use and the visual balance of the cabinetry. Small fronts can use knobs, T-bars or short pulls; wide drawers, tall doors and appliance fronts usually need longer pulls.
Centre-to-centre is the distance between the fixing holes. Overall length is the full end-to-end length of the handle. Centre-to-centre matters for drilling and replacement; overall length matters for visual proportion and grip.
Drawer handle placement should be consistent across the drawer bank and agreed before drilling. Pulls are often centred visually on the drawer face, while cup pulls need enough finger clearance and a clear position on the rail or drawer front.
Door handle placement should suit the stile, rail, door height and opening direction. A consistent line across the room is usually more important than following a single universal rule. For project cabinetry, confirm placement on drawings first.
